Keeping your vehicle on the road means keeping up with routine Mazda service. So, how do you know what routine maintenance to schedule, and how does it change whether you have a gasoline, hybrid, or electric vehicle? Gasoline-Powered Vehicles

Here’s a quick look at preventative maintenance items for gasoline vehicles that our Mazda service center recommends:

• Oil change every 7,500 miles
• Tune-up every 25,000 miles
• Spark plug replacement every 30,000 miles
• Brake pad replacement every 40,000 miles
• Battery replacement every four years

Additionally, we’ll check your vehicle’s fluids and air filters at each visit to make sure you’re ready for the road.

Hybrid Vehicles

Hybrid vehicles are powered by both a gasoline engine and a rechargeable battery. Because of the engine, a hybrid vehicle’s service checklist is very similar to a gas-powered vehicle’s. One of the many benefits of a hybrid, though, is that the engine doesn’t wear as quickly, so plan an oil change every 10,000 miles.

Electric Vehicles

Since electric vehicles are powered by a battery pack and don’t have a gasoline engine, they don’t need oil changes or tune-ups. However, you’ll still need to add a few things to your routine maintenance checklist.

First, have your battery checked frequently. You should also bring your vehicle to your local Mazda service center at least annually to perform inspections and maintenance on certain components, including brakes, wheels, and air filters.
